Jim, I've bought a few things from you and I regularly receive your e-mails. I thought you'd be interested in knowing that on Friday I landed a monster 18" Brook trout on the Golden Retriever. If I remember correctly, I got the recipe from you last spring and it's become my 'go-to' streamer/wooly bugger. I'd have to say that it's out fished any of my other streamers 3 to 1.

Just got back from fishing the Yellowstone area. Was out West for almost two months.
The Golden Retriever was truly my "go to" killer fly. I caught every type of fish on the Retriever:
Rainbows, Browns, Cutts, Brooks, etc. It was a good thing I purchased two dozen from you this year.
Several people approached me on the Madison and Gallatin Rivers and ask me what I was using. I showed them the Retriever and told them about your fly. I asked everyone if they tied and if they say yes I explained the pattern. If the answer was no, I asked them if they wanted to try to fish one now. Every person I gave a fly to, about 7 or 8, I witnessed them get a fish on or land one. One guy offered me $10 bucks for another, refusing I just gave him another fly. Told him that I was just glad he, like myself, was lucky to be able to do some fishing. I will be contacting you later, after I unpack, to order some more Retrievers.

I never did thank you for recommending those golden retrievers. They have worked great on several Kentucky trout streams. I caught some tough brown trout out of Rock Creek in the Daniel Boone National Forest and I have been bringing in the stocked trout too. Thanks again.

Hi Jim, I just returned from a trip to SW Wyoming and the Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam. I was fishing with a friend from CA. We used your retrievers in the evenings while fishing a pond in Wyoming and on the Green River. They worked great and in addition to a number of good size rainbows, my friend caught an 18 inch brown on a white retriever. He had never seen a retriever before and asked where I found them. I plan to order an assortment for him for our next trip. Gary

Hello I recently purchased a dozen of your golden retriever flies and I thought you might like to know how much fun I had this last weekend fishing one of them. I was at a small lake in the Southern Colorado mountains and it was too windy for fly rod fishing so I got out my spinning rod and a float bubble and tied on a golden retriever. I caught 18 rainbows in two hours and missed at least twenty others. I had smashed the barb and was catching and releasing. Thanks for a great fly. Rick

| Your Golden Retriever helped save my day and broke my heart on Friday. I was in PA to do a casting clinic and fish Spruce Creek and the Little Juniata River. It had rained and the river was muddy and pumping, so I fished Spruce. Nymphs just weren't working, so I tied on a Golden. I caught several really good fish. I tossed the streamer into one likely looking lie and started to strip when the stream boiled and I about lost the rod. No sooner did I realize that I was into a major fish when the leader snapped. A couple seconds later, a huge fish launched himself skyward. 28" and 7 lbs. of rainbow with a Golden Retriever in the corner of his mouth. He jumped 5 times. I don't know whether he was trying to shake the streamer, or just rub it in that he had just kicked my tail! You should get up there and fish some time. I did fish the Little J yesterday after the mud cleared. What a river! Full of bugs and lots of big fish. I hooked one big trout that I had to run along the bank to keep up with.

Hi Jim,
Fished for steelhead with a friend of mine today at _______ near _____. Caught over 25 fish between the two of us. Lost a lot of Golden Retrievers in the slate ledges, etc.
When you send the Disco flies can you add Golden Retrievers? Would like to have 48 if possible. If you don't have the time to tie that many, I would be happy to have what ever you can send and the rest later. . Thanks, Bruce

I placed an order with your shop and was wandering if you received my order it was for a half dozen of your golden retrievers my fishing buddy used these flies and had great rewards
I am very excited to go out to lake Erie with your flies and catch some steelhead my buddy caught 22 large steelies on your golden retrievers and only had one left and would not give it up and I don't blame him at all these are some deadly flies you tie and I cant wait to tie one on.
