| Golden retriever tying kits
Here are all the materials (except thread) needed to tie a dozen golden retrievers. Included with the materials is my recipe and instructions for tying the killer pattern. This assumes that you have the necessary tools and experience to tie a basic fly.

Thread
Red Flat Waxed Nylon by Danville is the thread needed to dress this fly (every color) properly. It is not included in the kit because a spool will tie more than 100 flies and many tyers may already have it. This thread is super strong and allows the tyer to really crank down and to tie a fly that stays together after a lot of abuse by fish. It lays flat (like floss) and builds up the underbody quickly and neatly.
