GOLDEN RETRIEVER SECONDS
Not all that bad!
I have a number of these flies in stock that just didn't come out right. I had a guy tying them for me...but not anymore.
Maybe the wraps are not spaced evenly or the head is a little big. If the marabou tails are a little long it is no big deal...I usually leave them long anyway and bass just suck them up. If trout are nipping a little short I usually break (don't cut) off small pieces 'til I get it right and start hooking those little nippers.
These flies are tyed with the same quality hooks and materials as all my retrievers, they just don't meet my high standards. The fish don't care though and one customer who has bought dozens from me laughed and said that he can't see any difference. I fish them mostly myself and they work fine.
